The Catechism of the Catholic Church Today on common teachings talked about in faith-sharing circles.

On the left navigation menu is a list of common Catholic teachings that are questioned about these days. Despite changes over the generations and developments in various cultures, the Scriptures still support, or have words of wisdom and warning, on many of these key topics.

Where it does not, (like IVF, In-vitro fertilization aka contraception), the Oral Tradition of the Church, in the Early Church Fathers, still has had a say in the life of the Christian churches around the world.

When possible I've provided Scripture quotes that precede what the Early Church Fathers taught.

When I haven't been able to provide sources from the Scriptures, I've provided what the Church currently teaches on the issue seeing what those first Christians thought and taught is no different than what the Church teachings today.

You may be surprised to find out how similar, if not identical, the views of the very first Christians were, compared to what practicing Catholics believe today.
