Hi, guys —
We know that a priest's proper vestments for administering Confession is a black cassock underneath a surplice.
- In connection with this, what is the proper vestment for a bishop who would administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation?

Dear Maximilian,
I'm not aware of any proper vestment that a bishop would wear to administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation but because a bishop (or even a cardinal) is still a priest, I would think the proper vestment would be the same one that a priest wears.
The only comprehensive postings in our database on vestments are these two:
I hope this helps,
