Hi, guys —
- Why don't Catholic Churches ever have functions for single people?
They have senior functions and youth functions but nothing for the lost people in their 30's.

Paul replied:
Jenny,
I have generally had the same question for a long time. It is sad.
Having said that, many parishes have had Young Adult groups that focus on the needs of people in their 20's and 30's. A number of dioceses have diocesan offices for young adults.
If your parish doesn't have a group you could call your diocese to find out where the closest one is and if you have the inspiration perhaps you could create one with the support of your parish priest.
I would suggest that you talk to your pastor about this need that is not being met for you.
Peace,
Paul

Bob replied:
Jenny,
Paul is right, you may have to be the one to get the ball rolling, but it could be worth it.
I met my wife at a Young Adult Catholic dance and she had started a prayer group for young adults at her parish which spawned at least one other wedding.
Good things can come from one individual stepping out to create an opportunity.
God bless,
Bob Kirby

Mike replied:
Hi, Jenny —
We should! Especially with more converts coming into the Church.
In my opinion, Catholic Apologetic social groups, like these, would be a great place to start.
