Hi, guys —

I have gone through your answers on John 6 and it does clarify the Church's view on the Eucharist. Thanks!

My next question is concerning Revelations.

What I'm finding hard to reconcile is the mark of the beast and how people will receive the mark to buy, sell, and worship the dragon (satan).

  • How could a new world order possibly implement this on nearly 1.5 billion Catholics when they know that we are not going to receive the mark nor ever worship satan?

  { Can you explain the mark of the beast in Revelation and how a new world order could do this? }

John replied:

Roy,

The book of Revelation is an apocalyptic book, not a book of prophesy . . . in the strict sense.

It reveals, it doesn't predict and it is allegorical or symbolic, so people keep racking their brains trying to figure it out to no end. There are two other points to know:

  1. First, much of Revelation has been fulfilled.

  2. Secondly, it is primarily a Liturgical Book. It reveals the Divine Liturgy in Heaven and Spiritual combat that is achieved in and through it.

The book should not be read like a fundamentalist. The mark of beast on the head, for all we know, could be symbolic language regarding a way of thinking or a way of acting.

John
