Dear Maria,

When many Catholics say they believe in Jesus they don't mean they believe He existed or that He spoke wisely, but rather they believe that He is divine and God Incarnate.

Maria,

Muslims may pay lip service to Christ in calling him a prophet, but they vociferously deny His divinity and consider Christians, who proclaim Him God, blasphemers and infidels.

There is no misunderstanding, just complete disagreement.

Lastly, we make no assumptions about what Muslims believe but hear it from their own teachings, which can be verified in the Koran and in the orations of their leaders.
