Dear Father:

I was under the impression that the Quran is Muhammad's work and was completely quoted from the Bible. I felt confident I could easily tell you where in the Bible Muhammad quoted any verse in the Quran from.

This was true until I read these two articles and now cannot locate the place in the Bible where Muhammad has quoted these from.

  • Can you show me where in the Bible Muhammad quotes the Bible in the Quran?

It would help me a lot.

God bless and all my best,

These are the links of the two articles:

Eric replied:

Hi, Pam —

Actually, we are mostly lay people, with a priest as backup.

The Quran sounds very biblical and cites some biblical ideas, but it doesn't actually quote from the Bible very often.

None of these are quotes, strictly speaking, from the Bible, although the verse about the trumpet has a close parallel: 1 Thessalonians 4:16:

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first."

1 Thessalonians 4:16

There is absolutely nothing about two angels accompanying us recording our deeds, although there are verses about our guardian angels: (Psalm 91:11, Acts 12:15, Matthew 18:10).

Eric
