Hi, guys —
One of the Ten Commandments is:
"You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in Heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth."
I've been a Catholic all my life, and the one question I've always wondered is:
- If we follow the Bible, then why do all Christians, including us, break this commandment?
We constantly pray to Mary and many other Saints and there are many larger-than-life carved statues of many Saints and Prophets whom we worship, and of course Jesus is celebrated several times a year.
Since he is a "Jealous God", I would have thought that anyone who follows Christianity would have obeyed this commandment.
I've never really understood this.
