Dear Henry —
It is about as natural on the spiritual order for women to want to become fathers as it is on the spiritual order for them to want to become priests. The priest is called "Father" for a reason.
It is a spiritual fatherhood in relationship to his flock. It reflects the fatherhood of God.
The problem isn't the Church not allowing women to become priests, but instead that any woman would want to become one. As St. Teresa once said, priesthood was below her dignity as a woman.
There are better, more appropriate, and more effective ways for women to love and give of themselves. Until the modern world once again recognizes that men and women are essentially different with different gifts and talents to give, they will not understand.
