Dear Brian,
The Church, as a human institution,
unfortunately reflects the society of people which
compose it. We are
a society that worships sex, and
we teach the young in our public
schools that they should be sexually
active in any way they wish.
- Should we then do away with schools
and society?
No. Unfortunately, there are sinners
in Church, and many of them have
covered up the sins of others, who
entered the clergy:
- perhaps in a state of arrested
development, or
- perhaps as a good place to conceal
their sexual proclivities.
The U.S. public school system has
the same proportion of sexually abusing
teachers, and the districts just
pass them from one system to another
for fear of lawsuits.
Thank God that all of this mess is
being addressed.
Just as the math that a sexually abusive
Math teacher teaches, is not wrong
because he teaches it,
so also the teaching and sacraments
administered by sinners is not invalid,
because of the sins of the minister.
